Shakespeare from the Ground‎ Postpones The Ides of March: Julius Caesar

Previously Scheduled March 24th at Pearl Street Brewery in La Crosse

Due to additional cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin and throughout the United States and following the announcement this week from UW-La Crosse to cancel classes and dismiss students, as a precautionary measure Shakespeare from the Ground is postponing its production of Ides of March: Julius Caesar.

The second performance from the group had been scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th at Pearl Street Brewery in La Crosse. Although there have been no confirmed cases in La Crosse, we know that the situation is evolving quickly, and we are taking added precautions to keep our actors, partners, and audience safe to slow the spread of the virus.

You could say Shakespeare from the Ground is being wary of the Ides of March, but they plan to reschedule this performance as quickly as the situation allows. Planning is already underway for July’s performance of Comedy of Errors and a performance in October of Much Ado About Nothing in solidarity with six of the country’s leading Oldschool Shakespeare companies who are doing a national relay tour together (https://www.oldschoolshakespeare.com/).

Tickets for the Singles Shakespeare Social event planned prior to the show, will be refunded. Visit http://shakespearefromtheground.com/ to stay up-to-date on any new developments as they become available.
