Accessible, Collaborative Theatre
MISSION:
We at Theatre from the Ground believe that theatre is for everyone. We are committed to making all theatre, especially the works of Shakespeare, interesting and accessible through high energy, raw performances developed through ensemble collaboration.
VISION:
We are committed to creating a safe, accessible, and collaborative theatre experience for our ensemble members and patrons. We plan to explore both classical and modern works and present them in an understandable format for our audiences. For our younger audiences, we will collaborate with educators to bring classroom theatre off the page and into action.
VALUES:
Inclusion
Theatre is for everyone. We strive to be AntiRacist and include diversity at all levels of our theatre thus enriching our art and our relationships with each other, our audiences, and our community.
Collaboration
We value all voices of the ensemble and Circle of Leadership. When we work together we gain the experience and expertise from everyone involved..
Clarity
Our goal is to make a text, that some find difficult to understand, easier to understand. Our actors commit to learning the stories so well that they can communicate them to a range of patrons that may be new to theatre and those that may have been privileged enough to have it around their whole lives.
Safety
We pledge to create an atmosphere of consent. We value a safe theatre experience and will never purposefully put anyone involved in our theatre at risk of being harmed emotionally or physically.
